A very small minority. The fact is how many people worship the one true God, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. When you put your trust in Him, then the Holy Spirit will reveal everything to you. Believe me, a personal relationship with God is very special. Once you have that, there will never be any doubts in your mind again.

As for people who disagree with what I'm saying, I've been in life or death situations both in the Armed Forces and in Civilian life, and I can honestly tell you that when you're faced with such a crisis, I've seen the most devout atheist call on God for help. That's why there is no such thing as an atheist, everyone idolises something, and puts there trust in material things, or false religions.

I don't like the word religion, Christianity is a way of life. Once you take that step God will protect you against all the evil in this world, as well as give you wisdom and understanding to know God's Word and His Will for you.

I was going to say that I hate to contradict God (answer prior to mine) but then I remembered that I don't believe in God so it's really not an issue.

I can't give you an exact percentage as there are so many religions and different levels of belief. An answer prior to mine gave a good but not exhaustive list of religions however the world population says we have approx 6.5 billion and the list he gave adds up to nearly 7 billion so it can't be accurate.

Population Clocks
U.S. 300,024,539
World 6,551,638,154
16:31 GMT (EDT+4) Oct 20, 2006

I managed to find data from the year 2000 and it wont have changed drastically since then.

In 2000 the percentage of the worlds population that was an atheist is 2.5%. Please note that this is not people who are not religious as not being religious does not mean you don't belive in God. I think someone later has given you that percentage by accident as it is a fair bit higher.

I thought it would be a lot higher but I guess having a God fills a void for a lot of people.

I think more people (percentage wise) in england do not believe in god than in the USA. Education soon sorts that out. You can go on with your life acting in a decent way treating people with respect and decency without believing in the man upstairs. Maybe there is, im open minded. But until i see some evidence a little more substantial than what we are told to believe then i will get on with my life. In 15th century england everyone believed. Mainly becuase their lives were s**t, they lived in s**t, ate s**t, old age was about 45 if you were lucky. If i was around then and someone told me that there was a better place after this life if i just believed then i have to say i'd be believing in it to. And it seems to me, get rid of religion and you get rid of a lot of the barriers and differences that make people hate each other so much.

More than nine in 10 Americans—95 percent—told ABC News polltakers that they believe in God. A Gallup Organization survey for CNN and USA Today last December found much the same thing: Nearly nine in 10—86 percent—said they believed in God, while another 8 percent said they believe in some form of "Universal spirit or higher power."

Probably quite small. The Bible says that even the devils believe. Of greater significance is the issue of how many that believe there is a God, believe that what He says in the Bible is true.

Not enough I'm afraid. I'd put it at less than 10% Most people will say they believe in God when pressed and offered the alternative.

i don't believe in God in Biblical terms - but i do believ we have a creator, someone who made humans and put us on the earth.

I think a surprising amount of people don't actually believe in God and is mainly due to the lack of visual evidence!
