A local cheese business has shut down & needs to destroy several tons of cheese. It got me thinking, but i couldn't think of an answer.

Why destroy it, give it away free, that will get rid of it fast, it could also help some people out who are struggling financially

Why would you destroy food?? Very odd when some people could really use free food.
It would just be landfilled. Throw it in the dumpster.

why couldn't it be donated to homeless shelters, safe houses, or anyone or organization that helps people in poverty.
