It appears to be a Capital P with an X on the leg of the P.
The P is Greek for Rho.
The X is Greek for Chi.
I am trying to remember where I have a copy of a discussion of it. Basically, the resolution of that discussion, was the the Chi represented Christ, and Rho indicated a state of being in motion.
It is used sometimes to represent "Love in Action".
Anyway, the source lists a some pictures, but the text does not appear to be present for anything other than discussion. Notice also that the symbol of Omega was different than the modern usage.
