It depends what you want to get. I know JC Penney always runs these $3.99 a sheet specials. Here is a link http://www.jcpenneyportraits.com/offers/7000274/coupons7000274c.shtml
I heard that Target is comparable, I've never dealt with Sears or Walmart. I have been going to JC Penney's for a few years and have never been disappointed.

Well since you specifying that your wedding is Desi and that it's a Nikah ceremony, do you want something more specific than a normal photographer? I'm a bit confused cuz Desi is Hindu and Nikah is an Islamic tradition... so I'm not totally sure what you're asking? Add more details if you can, or if you think it's relevant. But honestly, it really doesn't matter what type of wedding you're having to a NY photographer. Money is what matters, not your religious preference. They're used to photographing all cultures, they won't bat an eyelash at a different culture. You just need a photographer you'll be happy with. And photographers don't base things on the amount of people. They pretty much all have a set rate for a certain amount of hours. If you got an cheap photographer/videographer, it will be around $1000. The mid range is $1000-$3000. And the really good ones will be $3000+. But an average NY photographer will cost at least $2000.

Don't go to Wal-Mart, Sears or Olan Mills unless you want boring portraits that look like everyone else's. Blah-blah-backgrounds and cheesy poses - YUCK. Look around for a good on-location portrait photographer and pay a little extra to get unique, individualized portraits that you'll love forever! I've been doing portraits for years ... look at my website if you wanna see the kind of work I do.
