Was it Westlife or Josh Groban and also whose rendition is better of the two Josh Groban does it for me though lets see how this one pans out

According to Wikkopedia, the music was written by Rolf Løvland of Secret Garden and the lyrics by Brendan Graham. It was released in 2001 by Secret Garden on Once in a Red Moon. Josh Gorban was the next notible recording and Westlife is number 100 in the chronology.

I've heard the original version, and it sounded pretty lame I don't know the name of the group, however, Josh groban sings it better
isn't he the best?!!!!...his third album coming out in Nov. 7th.!!

Or you could just find a nice old recording of "Danny Boy" because it's essentially the same melody...
