Why do they call it that when it's not the whole world? Very confusing....They call the Super Bowl that because it is SUPER! LOVE THAT DAY!!!!

Is America not really the whole world? I mean, what other countries really matter?

It's an old name from a time when the entire world of baseball existed within the confines of the USA. I doubt the rest of the world is all that insulted by its name.

I suppose you could call it something else, but there's something to be said for tradition.

Then again, perhaps when Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton are in charge they'll come up with a more "progressive" (and politically correct) name for it. We can't, after all, run the potential risk of offending anyone.

Oh, wait ... and didn't George W. Bush own the Texas Rangers before he took up politics? Perhaps the name is simply a part of the vast right-wing conspiracy. Yeah - that's it! It's the republicans' fault!

Or maybe not.
