1.) Use an extremely moisturizing shaving gel
2.) Shave with a warm, moist razor to provide the best contact with skin
3.) Shave in the shower, so that the hair has absorbed moisture and become softer and more pliable
4.) Clean the area prior to shaving
5.) Make sure your razor is high quality, with no burs or rust.
6.) After your shave, pat the area dry, don't rub it. This irritates the follicles and may cause bumps or rashes.
7.) Use a gentle unscented lotion on the area after shaving, this soothes the skin after the trauma of shaving.

Of those suggestions I think moisturizing properly is the most important. I have to shave my face daily and these are the precautions I take to reduce shaving rashes and bumps.

My suggestion is to NOT shave, and get bikini waxes. That makes the hair grow in much slower, and much thinner, which will make bumps less frequent.

If you MUST shave, try soaking in warm water first, then slathering the area with copius amounts of baby oil! lol It sounds crazy, but that almost provides a shield so the razor glides over the area, and you are getting the hair without irritating your skin.

After the fact, you should try exfoliating with a scrub every other day to remove dead skin, and purchasing a bottle of TEND SKIN, which you can buy at any spa. Put that on twice a day, and watch the bumps just dissappear!

Good luck!

Make sure you shave in the shower or bath when you legs or whatever you're shaving is moist. The reason the bumps are there is because you are removing dry hair from dry skin. The razor bumps will go away soon. Just be sure to shave when you're legs are moist and you won't get them! And if that doesnt work, buy a new, more efficiant razor thats proven to do better. Good Luck!

Use a brand new razor and moisturizing shave cream. Afterwards, use Neosporin over the shaved area.

A better solution is to wax. It isn't really as painful as you would think and lasts a lot longer and you don't get bumps.

Make sure the area that you are shaving is wet with warm water and covered in shaving cream. Also remember to moisturize afterwards.

Good luck!
