The fossil record clearly demonstrates that earlier species have been replaced by later species ever since life began on earth. This is not assumption. This is concrete evidence that you can see with your eyes and hold in your hands. Since this has happened, there must have been some natural process that can account for it, whether God was responsible for such a process or not. Biological evolution is the only reasonable theory that has been proposed to explain this inescapable reality. If you have an alternative scientific theory, please present it! You will be world famous overnight!

Here is an abstract of an experiment which clearly demonstrates evolution:
Molecular methods are used widely to measure genetic diversity within populations and determine relationships among species. However, it is difficult to observe genomic evolution in action because these dynamics are too slow in most organisms. To overcome this limitation, we sampled genomes from populations of Escherichia coli evolving in the laboratory for 10,000 generations. We analyzed the genomes for restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLP) using seven insertion sequences (IS) as probes; most polymorphisms detected by this approach reflect rearrangements (including transpositions) rather than point mutations. The evolving genomes became increasingly different from their ancestor over time. Moreover, tremendous diversity accumulated within each population, such that almost every individual had a different genetic fingerprint after 10,000 generations. As has been often suggested, but not previously shown by experiment, the rates of phenotypic and genomic change were discordant, both across replicate populations and over time within a population. Certain pivotal mutations were shared by all descendants in a population, and these are candidates for beneficial mutations, which are rare and difficult to find. More generally, these data show that the genome is highly dynamic even over a time scale that is, from an evolutionary perspective, very brief.

There are different versions of evolution. Some versions are without a divine creator and some versions of the theory are with a divine creator. Scientists were the first ones to depart from Charles Darwin's original theory and most scientists don't believe in Charles Darwin's original views on evolution. So that is already three different evolutionary theories in brief that I know about.
To Christians, evolution is still a big who cares. The creator of the universe is outside of space and time and the creator created the finite universe from His infinity. Science does not deal with something that big outside of space and time.

Fossil evidence alone is overwhelming for evolution. Now will fossil evidence alone fill in the gaps that we have? No. There may be many things we'll never know for absolute but there is no dobut that current life on this planet was a direct result of evolutionary forces.

if you don't already believe evolution is a fact of life and has absolutely nothing to do with religion, then you never will. You want proof of evolution. Look in the mirror. OK if evolution wasn't occuring all the time, you would look exactly like your mother, and grandmother, and great grandmother. that little difference is caused by genetics, and that is evolution. Evolution isn't some big change, its little changes over time that makes it easier for things to adapt to the changing world. those that don't adapt to changes, don't survive very long, and those that do adapt, thrive. its as simple as that ! evolution is all about changing to suit the circumstances.

even as a child in the womb there is good evidence of evolution
the baby has like gill type things behind the ears to survive in the fluid , which disapear before birth
the appendix also functions in the womb
and is not needed as a developing adult
and i do believe in a creator but there is too much evidence around of evolution to deny it

Fossil records for entire species showing evolutionary change-yes they really do exist in spite of what creationists claim. Biological diversity, shared characteristics between species e.g. inability of primates and man to synthesise vitamin c. Also it has been observed in laboratories as species of microbe evolve into new and distinct species-that isn't proof of evolution for larger species but proof that an evolutionary mechanism exists in the natural world.

I saw a cartoon that showed the "Big Bang Theory"
--- The big bang : a couple arguing and then going off separately to fume.
evolving: the same couple later on are cuddling on the sofa in front of the tv --- laughing together.
*Creationists and evolutionists, Christians and non-Christians all have the same evidence—the same facts. Think about it: we all have the same earth, the same fossil layers, the same animals and plants, the same stars—the facts are all the same.
The difference is in the way we all interpret the facts. And why do we interpret facts differently? Because we start with different presuppositions.
I do agree with this!
