telling them there's no carpet would either shut em up or make them ask you more harrasing questions.
ask them "does it rain in the UK?" and see what they say, if they answer yes or say of course, at least you know they've got brains and you also got out of answering their question without giving anything away. as surely they won't assume that the answer to their question is yes!! tell them if they "assume" something it makes an *** of u and me !
