I have visited the doctor and they put me on Nexium. It still is painful. I am going for an Xray on Monday. Can't eat much, any food suggestions?

Hello. I just had an EGD in the hospital and they told me I have and ulcer too. It sucks!!! I took Maalox which helps with the cramping but I had to get Nexium and a pain perscription . The pain is so severe that I had shortness of breath and like a knife in the lower sternum! You do need to go to the Doctors. Best of Luck!!

I have read that stomach ulcers can be caused by a certain bacteria in the stomach and that the doctor would know to check for that and it is usually treated with an antibiotic. Medicines like Malox will help coat the stomach and help with the acids. Don't eat things like garlic, spicy foods, pepperoni, greasy foods.

Have you seen your doctor - if not go now!

If you have then only use what they recommend.

Hope it clears for you.

Drinking plenty of water helps dilute the acid in your stomach which helps a bit - short term

Did your doctor tell you that you have an ULCER? If so, what medication did he/she put you on and if it's not working--have you called them?

If you just think you have an ulcer, you need to see the doctor.
