You wouldn't be drinking a lot of orange juice or any of many other drinks, foods, etc, which contain citric acid, would you? I had a rash somewhat the same and found that drinking too much orange juice each day was the culprit. My pharmacist pointed out this possibility and when I stopped drinking the OJ the rash cleared up. Hope this helps you.

We have had scabies and I can tell you that almost immediately after you put the cream on, he should have some relief of the itching. If he is still horrible itching a week later, something is wrong. It is still possible to have the rash a week later with scabies because it needs to heal but it shouldn't get too much worse. Are the bumps only in certain spots? Scabies will usually be on wrists, inside of elbows, waistline, back, legs. But, I have never seen them all over the body evenly. Could it possible be exzema? This is horribly itchy and the scabies medicine obviously won't help it. But it is usually not all over his body either. Good luck.

Im not trying to scare you but it could be shingles. The first sign of shingles is often burning or tingling pain, or sometimes numbness or itch, in one particular location on only one side of the body.
After several days or a week, a rash of fluid-filled blisters, similar to chickenpox, appears in one area on one side of the body. Shingles pain can be mild or intense. Some people have mostly itching; some feel pain from the gentlest touch or breeze.
The most common location for shingles is a band, spanning from one side of the trunk around the waistline. Anyone who has had chickenpox is at risk for shingles.
I would suggest that you go and visit your doctor again.

there are two things that I can think of.....one if a cat scratched you and the other ezema. Have you taken allergy meds...ie benedryl. I dont know what the DR gave you but steroid cream works the best on me for any skin problems.....if it is ezema advoid hot steamy showers/baths it only irritates it. Best of luck rashes really suck. ( i have really sensitive skin so I feel your pain) Oh did you start taking any new medications that could be causing it?
