Hi Sissybug,

you want her to click on the driver? well, she did and she got this message,

"You are attempting to open a file of type 'system file' (.sys)

These files are used by the operating system and by various programs. Editing or modifying them could damage your system.

If you still want to open the file, click open with, otherwise click cance./

Look for a file with the extension .inf right click it, you will see an option that says "install" choose that option.

Then go to your add new hardware icon in your control panel, if its a new install, it will find the new driver and then locate the hardware (webcam) if it is an update to an old driver choose your webcam driver that is already installed then Click "update driver"

To those who answered before me. . .
You people should be asking questions, not answering them. Jeez

If the driver came as an executable (.exe) then just open it as you would any other exe file. Chances are it will be either: An installer package, or A self extracting archive. For the first, it will give you instructions The second might give you instructions (if it autoruns an installer from within the archive). If not, take note of where it uncompressed to and find the folder and look for a setup.exe (or something similarly obvious) to run. If it came as just an archive, then the above still pretty much applies, extract the contents somewhere, go there and find the whatever that seems like the installer file.

Connect the camera and rstart the PC. Windows will notify new hardware found and ask for installation of drivers. At this stage select the location of driver files as the location where you have uncompressed the files.

It is applicable to windows only.
