I have a 4 year old and a 3 year old. Leappads are awesome! They have educational video games, and books that teach them how to write their numbers, letters, and read books.
My daughter could write her first and last name without help by the time she was 3 and a half!

The Leapster is anothe good choice. The games have some of thier favorite characters. It's an educational video game. Also something that my three year old LOVES is the hoppity ball. He sits on it and bounces all over the place...no batteries required! It's the cheepest and most played with toy in the house(around $10)

Learning games are always the best for toddlers and young children. Leap Frog is good, or V Smile, learning books with the alphabet or numbers in them. Anything to stimulate a child's mind. The amount of learning toys they have out now is amazing! go to Wal-Mart.

My Daughter's favorite is the leap pad alphabet "Fridge Phonics" link:
http://www.leapfrog.com/do/findproduct?ageGroupKey=preschool&key=fridgephonics
It goes on the fridge ( or anything magnetic) will sing the alphabet, teach phonics, numbers, and counting.
From the web site:
"Product Details for Fridge Phonics™ Magnetic Set
Your fridge door is the perfect place to develop a taste for reading.
Nobody goes hungry for learning with this set of 26 colorful, easy-grip magnetic letters and magnetic letter reader that attaches securely to your fridge. Each letter talks, sings and teaches letter names, letter sounds and learning songs. Put a letter into the reader to hear its name, its sound or a fun phonics song.
Your kids might not eat their vegetables, but with the Fridge Phonics Magnetic Set they can learn to spell them."
My daughter plays with this every day and is learning to recognize letters, numbers, and can sing her alphabet!!!!
Other ideas would be somthing she is really into: ie Disney Princesses, Dora, Elmo, etc. If there is somthing like that that she really loves Anything you get her in the product line would be great!
Hope this helps!!

try the V-Smile it has different games and they all teach well they too have different levels for different ages and diff. types of learning for diff. areas. my son loves it because he thinks it's just a video game but since he has had it,it has helped his speech,I swear he talks like an adult and he will hold a very sophisticated conversation with you using big words and such, sometimes I have to ask him where he comes up with this stuff but between that and Thomas the train I already know lol.

Leap Pad systems are awesome. I can also recommend anything to do with Dora the Explorer. Little girls love her ( little boys do as well) and she is educational.

It's probable to spend a lot of time and money searching for approaches to train your young ones how to see and improve their studying skills. Is difficult to instruct a small kid how to read, and also tempting them to read is a challenge in itself. But it does not have to be this way because you got the help of this program https://tr.im/CUuGs , Children Learning Reading program.
With Children Learning Reading you may teach your youngster how to split up sounds and separate words in to phonemes, an important issue when your child is just learning to spell.
The studying program from Children Learning Reading program makes it simple for children to learn easily and properly, from easy words to phrases until they understand to learn stories.
