I just picked up a pair of trial pair of contacts last night. (I've had contact before, but it was years ago and I only had them for like 2 weeks. I didn't like them.) The receptionist that handed them to me was pretty busy and just said "if you like them, call and we'll order you a 3 month supply."
I put them in this morning. Everything is fine. But, sometimes my vision gets blurry, especially things far away. Is this simply caused by dryness?
Also, how long did you find it took you to get use to them?
Any tips?
Thanks!

Just to clarify a little more. I get my eye glasses and contacts from my eye doctor. I had a check up not too long ago and they keep my prescription and history on file. So, when I asked about contacts, they checked my file and got them made based on what the doctor said.

Oh, last time I got my eyes checked, my prescription had changed, but very slightly so I didn't get new glasses. The contacts would have been made with the new prescription which is now different then the one I use everyday.

i'm a certified optician...in the state that i live in,when a dr prescribes contacts and dispenses a pair of trials, the dr is supposed to see the lenses in your eyes to check vision and fit etc...before you are allowed to order more contacts.but besides that, you could be experiencing dry eyes, yes.there are OTC(over-the-counter)lubricating drops that you can try made specifically for contact lense wearers, try one.i'm not talking about visine or anything like that!read the label closely or ask your eye dr what they reccommend.you said there wasn't much change in your rx,but it could take up to 2 weeks for your eyes to adjust new the contacts.did you gradually increase your wearing time?you should not wear them longer than 8-10 hrs a day also!take care of your eyes, you only have one pair!

I've been wearing contacts for years and recently switched from the ones you have to clean and disinfect to dailies...just toss them at night and put in a brand new pair in the morning. I highly recommend those.
For your blurry vision I'd first suggest double-checking the prescription on the container against your Rx from the doctor, to make sure they didn't get it wrong. Also, if you have a different Rx for left and right, make sure you keep that straight. And also, make sure you didn't put them in inside-out.
Dry eye could cause blurriness, if re-wetting drops don't help, you could have the eye doctor do a test for eye moisture and get prescription drops if your dry eye is severe.
It does take a while to get used to them, and sometimes you have to play around with different brands and types to get the ones that are right for you. Hopefully your doctor is willing to experiment and follow up to see how you are liking them. Some are real contact lens experts and will work with you to find the perfect fit.
Good luck!

First, did they even do an exam? I ask b/c you say "picked up".
The blur can be caused by dryness, but it could be the wrong prescription. Please do not wear them until you have an exam. You could ruin your vision. I have been wearing contacts for about 10 yrs now, and every so often the dryness hits me and it makes everything blurry. So I now have a pair of glasses to help me out on those days.

i dont really understand how you just walked in and the busy receptionist handed you some contacts. In the US you need to see the optometrist and they prescribe you contacts (even a free trial) so I'm not sure what country you're in and how things work there.
But yeah the doctor measures your eves to give u a pair that fit correctly, so they shouldnt be uncomfortable or hard to get used to,. if you dont clean tthem, fuzz and bacteria accumulate and that would make them blurry, but from everywhere (not just from far away).
you should check with your doc to make sure youre wearing the right size and shape and right type.

Tell your medical professionals workplace that you're going to pay for the examination at present if they are going to please provide you a tribulation pair of lenses at present (they'll do a speedy determine of your eyes to make sure well eye wellness). Tell them you're in dire want as you shouldn't have any again up. If they are saying no to that then plead for them to get you in at present(be high-quality although). If you pay for the examination prematurely I don't see why they would not support you out. If all else fails pass to a Walmart, Lenscrafters, Pearle imaginative and prescient or every other optical save for an eye fixed examination. A dependable, legislation abiding optical is not going to provide you a tribulation and not using a present rx or evidence that you're going to be touring quickly and your eyes are in well wellness. Everyone may be very afraid of a lawsuit related to that. However, if in case you have the money you will have to be in a position to get in at present. Good good fortune.

dryness can cause your vision to get blurry occationally with contacts ive been wearing mine now for about 6 months and they do get a bit uncomfortable at times especially if they have been in for longer than 8 to 10 hours. sometimes if slept in they can become extremely blurred causing vision imparement compareable to that of a blind person its best to keep some travel solution with you at all times and moisten them frequently

You should probably ask the doctor about the bluriness. I would carry a bottle of solution so that you can be sure that your eyes don't get dry.
