You people who don't drink tap water.....do you bathe in it? Or do you buy bottled water and then boil it for bathing? And what makes you think bottled water isn't directly from the tap in some warehouse in the middle of nowhere????????
Seriously. Give me a break. If tap water was so incredibly bad for us, there wouldnt be plumbing in houses. If your tap water tastes bad, buy a damn Brita water filter.
I have given my daughter tap water since she was born. It's what I used to mix her formula. She has turned out perfectly normal. She hasnt mutated into an alien being.

I'd still boil it.
I live in south Wales and our water is really hard and yukkyy. I still boil it for myself, not for health reasons but just because it tastes better and is easier on the stomach. Water straight out of the tap just seems to make me feel queasy, presumably theres so much chemicals and crap in it.
I wouldn't give my baby non boiled water till he was about 3 or 4 but thats just because the water round here is gross.
Check with yor health visitor.

Bottled water is worse for children than tap water, I gave all 3 of my children tap water from the age of 6 months which is what all health professionals recommend!

My pedi said we could use tap water without boiling from day 1 for powdered formula.
I can't imagine why someone would say not before 5yrs of age because fluoride is put in it to help with our teeth.

Definitely don't give them bottled mineral water because the mineral levels (inc. sodium) are too high, can give them the runs also.
We were told that tap water is fine once they are on solid foods ie. from 4-6 months onwards.

You should always use tap water for your kids. So long as it's considered safe to drink (which it is, if it's coming from the city supply). Tap water has flouride which babies need to develop stronger teeth. My doc told me to not use anything but tap water unless I had to.

BOILED or DISTILLED water would be better .......
they still need the flouride in the water for teeth developmenet...
and not Filtered water is recommended....
12 months is good.
And water before juice is ALWAYS the best choice.
