When you ask people, "do you want peace?" of course they'll say yes. That's obvious. The question becomes more difficult when you discuss the terms of peace.
Under what conditions do you want peace? The nazi party wanted peace. But they wanted it on their terms. Al Qaeda wants peace, but on their terms. Kim Jong Il wants peace on HIS terms.
Qualify the terms of peace, and you'll get the reasons for conflict.

Peace comes from within. People are afraid of looking deep within therefore it is much easier to resort to being the only way people know how to be, defensive, agressive etc. On the whole the world is fighting man but man does not know who man is fighting.

Because the few that want conflict are the ones who will destroy any peace that the rest of us could build. We need to be on top of it so that they can't do that.
