I was brought up in the Christian religion, but I am no longer a Christian.
When I tell someone that a "True Christian" wouldn't do something, it is an observation based upon my knowledge of the tenets and teachings of the Christian religion.
For instance, a True Christian wouldn't vote for a president who condones torture. A True Christian wouldn't tolerate a government that holds prisoners without trials or even charges - for years at a time.
A True Christian would be protesting for peace, rather than supporting the murder of over 600,000 people by their government.
A True Christian would not judge, lest they be judged. A True Christian would be FOR environmental issues, since it's a sin to destroy God's creation wantonly.
But there aren't very many True Christians. Most are lip-service "gimme what I want" phonies who will be very, very surprised when the "last trumpet sounds", and they are reminded that "Not all who cry "Lord, Lord" will be saved. He shall say to them "I never knew you""

I am a born-again christian and i agree with you as far as never being too old to learn. and unfortunately, everyone judges people, no matter who you are. I constantly have to ask God for forgiveness cuz sometimes i may judge someone by the way they're dressed but then i'll catch myself and think of reasons why they may be dressed a certain way. i.e. maybe they can't afford clothes, maybe they lost their clothes in a fire and had to borrow clothes, etc. but there is no such thing as being "more christian"... christianity is about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ... either you have one or you don't. it doesn't make us perfect though, noone is perfect but God Almighty. what is kinda funny though, is your understanding of a "true" christian where you yourself are an athiest. that would be like me claiming to know what a true atheist is if i myself are not one.

You'll make a good Christian.
Until then I would like to leave you something to consider, a plausible, possible explaination as to why some Christians make a distinction between "Christians" and "True Christians".
Firstly I think it's helpfull to re-state what might be the obvious, that a Christian is someone who follows Christ. But to follow, one must not only know where He's going, but must be prepared to go there also. These things are foolishness to all but a small % (probably single figures) of the populations of so called "Christian" countries such as US & UK despite polls to the contrary which indicate that in the order of 80% of people in those contries consider themselves to be Christian.
God's word tells us plainly that unless we are born again in Christ we will not enter God's Kingdom. Those who are born again and have therefore the security of knowing with certaintiy that they are "saved" did not get to be that way by any good deed, act of charity, by birthrite or by attending church etc. etc.
They got to be that way by a simple and pofound act of faith, they confessed with their tounges that Jesus was their Lord and Saviour and believed on Him, and that's it, nothing more, nothing less, just faith and the Grace of God.
So in short you're right (at least partially), we are none of us quite fit to judge others and God's word warns us to avoid doing so least we be judged by the same measure, and come the Day of the Lord, Jesus will be our judge.
Equally however, Christians do others a disservice by neglecting to make it claer to others that there is a huge difference between attending church and actually being a Christian.
Luk 6:36-38
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

By true Christian the posters mean a person who is living the tenets of Christ. I translated for you. I am a former Christian and I know the language. It is not being judgmental for them to say this.

I disagree, although sometimes we can be judgemental.
The reason I disagree is that by definition, a Christian is one who to the best of his imperfect ability, tries to follow the example that Jesus set for us. (1 Peter 2:21; John 13:15)
By default, one who does not at least try to do that, along with accepting what Jesus taught, can obviously no be a Christian.

If what they are doing goes against the bible then no its not a judgement statement it is fact. So, therefore they are just stating what they know. I wouldn't or I try not say people are not true Christians, I usually try to say that they are stumbling in their walk with Christ that's all.

Every "good" christian believes that what they do is inherantly the right thing to do, and that anyone who does differently in matters of even the slightest import is wrong / misguided / corrupted / evil.
The problem is that sometimes they VOICE or ACT ON that belief.... which is really really stupid. They should just keep it to themselves.
For instance... Hitler.

[Note: I acknowledge and deny Godwin's Law in this particular case.]

Indeed, it is preposterous order to teach first, and learn after.
I don't blame athiests for not agreeing with many Christians.
Especially if many shall come, and shall deceive many such.
Those "first called Christians at Antioch" were the likes of:
- "Saul" of Saul/Paul, the Child of Child/Man
- carried away by dissimulation "Barnabas"
- "Peter", the only man in Bible called Satan
So those "first called Christians" got chanGed.
Saul becomes Paul: "his witness unto all men".
Peter becomes converted Peter, via Paul's epistles.
Paul's 15 epistles make up over 50% of the NT.
Paul writes more NT than all 6 others combined.
Paul looks at both Law and Grace, by comparision.
Paul notes "scriptures" were written for our "learning".
Of "contrary" scriptures, only script-u-are God inspired.
His conclusion is always: "Grace with you all. Amen."
It's same to Hebrews as unto Christians in Revelation.
It's Paul's "saluation", "token", that ends the Holy Bible.
And it's thrice noted such is written by Paul's own hand.
Oviously "false Christs shall arise" make "false" Christians.
Such so-called Christians believe johnny Law is the Divine.
No marvel, even devils "believe" there is one God: Theirs.
"Their end" shall be according to "their works". Their part:
Not suffered to continue(human race) by reason of death.
False Christians as "antichrist" as those they accuse.
Anyone anti-christ is simply anti-"the end of the law".
GWB is a prime example of a false(lawing) Christian.
Christ would not accuse(law) anyone: John 5:45.
Christ wasn't sent to condemn(law) any: John 3:17.
Not even an adult-erous woman(church): Jn 8:3-11.
Christ wasn't sent to judge(law), but to save(grace).
For "by the using of ordinances"(laws): "all perish".
For as in Adam "all die". But in Christ shall "all live".
It's a matter of all live (by grace), or all die (by law).
Ghandi: it's either non violence or non existence.
Shakespeare: the question is to be or not to be.
To wit: that God was in "Christ" reconciling the world.
("that God" was not into Jesus alienating the world)
Christ is not awful lawful, but rather he's grace us.
True Christ-ians are grace us, mercy full, peace full.
False Christ-ians are law full, sacrifice all, division all.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Oh, but you're not a _true_ atheist. A true atheist would never ask a question like that...
Baby atheist. Wanna-be atheist... Just wait until you die! The lack of a deity will be very angry with you!
