A lot of people will go on about 'common sense', in either direction. This is because common sense is very fluid. You could believe that either stuff happens as a result of what happened before it (first scientific principle, action=>reaction) or that there is an all-emcompassing being controlling it all.
Christians will go on about how they've been around for thousands of years and have not been 'disproven'. This is because they have established methods of very solidly ignoring any disproof that comes their way. There are many fundamental paradoxes involved in the whole religion thing. How can an all-good character allow evil when he has complete control over it? Can he make a rock so big he can't lift it? Can he, with his omnipotence, act in a way other than that his omniscience told him he would act? The standard christian responses are 'he moves in mysterious ways' or 'he is not bound to our logic'.
All of these are paradoxial in that they cancel themselves out. They require a certain degree of logic, and as humans who have developed intelligence it seems expected that we would have a natural inclination to use some of it. Yet, all of these are based on fundamental concepts of the religion. Basic ideas of Christianity cancel themselves out.
When the 'freethinkers' realise that logic denies faith, and practically the entirety of human existence can be explained or is reliant on logic, faith starts to lose importance.

This is an issue you have to work thru and I cant help you. First of all, the Bible says God is all powerful, so, what is physically impossible, for someone who has all the power of the universe??
Second, and probably the most important, Man has tried to disprove God and the Bible for over 2500 years. Today, with modern computers and all, he still is unable to disprove the Bible. WHY? Because the Bible is a Divine record from this All Powerful person that many people chose not to believe in. If man could disprove the Bible, the far right Neocon's would disappear, the 83% of Americans who say they are Christians, wouldn't have a leg to stand on or a stand in any fight, like abortion.
No, I do feel sorry for you cause you are lost and cant see the forest cause all those trees are in your way. Need to do some research and some common sense thinking to clear your mind. Your following the fools path in life and it leads to a dead end.

That's true. However, I don't really think there is ever a point where it is even a choice. Outside of some indoctrination techniques and brainwashing, it is impossible to choose what you believe. You can choose to study and learn about something, but you can't choose to be convinced by it.
Given the current evidence we have for and against the existence of God, it would be as impossible for me to choose believe that God exists as it would for me to choose believe that the moon really is made of cheese.
Faith is believing something because you want to believe it (or fearful of it being true). It is also not a choice, because you can't really choose what you like and dislike. Unless there is something that makes the idea of a god existing so attractive to me that I just believe it in the absence of evidence, I just won't have faith in it existing.

And so the Word says, Why not ask for discernment?
1 Corinthians 1:27
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

It is logically impossible to believe the bible. I agree. The same could be said for most religious texts. A way for christians to be saved is to not take the bible literally.

To be saved you have to have faith in unbelievable things. A true freethinker cannot do this. It is against everything he or she stands for. A freethinker cannot be "saved" in the religious sense, but he can be content knowing that he is "saved" from living a life controlled by ignorance and superstition.

To become saved? Believe.
Emotions too are "physically impossible" yet you believe and put faith in them. How do you know you truly love something or someone? How do you know they truly love you? Is it a faith? Or something that is now "physically possible".

First off, how does one accomplish the "PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE" [sic] to either believe or not believe in regards to your question?
Does one stand on his/her head and proclaim, "I do not believe in God"?
