There is no easy way! It is very hard. You first have to want to. I have been smoking for only seven years and have tried several times to just stop it don't work like that. Your brain has done got used to functioning with chemical on a day to day basis and if you stop giving in it at once your brain is going to fight back and try to make you give it this chemical. When you do quit your brain will get used to functioning again without this chemical, but it does take time. I have been on this new med called Chantix for 2 weeks I have not fully quit yet, but I'm getting there. I did smoke 11/2 packs a day. Now I'm done to less than 1/2 pack. It is expensive for the first month it was $95, they think you should be on it for at least 12 weeks. It does really help with cravings, but does not constantly keep putting nicotine in your body. I've tried the patch, gum and anything else you can think of including the Webutrin pill. My opinion Chantix will be best chance to quit.

I don't smoke, but my son was up to 4 packs a day. He has tried countless times to quit. Recently (about 4 months ago), he got some nicotine patches. He told me that this has been easiest so far. He smoked a cigarette while he had the patch on and he developed a rash, so he continued to use the patch without smoking - so far he has stayed off of them. He also said that his appetite did not fluctuate as he expected it would. Good luck. I know this is a hard habit to break, but it in your best interest.

strange, the obvious answers are usually the best, if you are looking for something to help you in quitting smoking I would suggest smoke away, the nicoderm cq patch or the generic version of it for the simple fact that the nicoderm cq patch causes some wickedly vivid dreams, and also there is a losenge out that works pretty well from what I have heard, and also there is a gum out there as well, you can find any of these at a pharmacy and they are pretty affordable if you are serious about quitting smoking ciggarettes then you should give it a try

why u want to quit?
if u want to quit ur own habit why ask others?
it is in ur own hands- don't allow the fingers to hold the cig.
just leave it.its ur habit and u r the right person to decide.
my dear its not the obvious answer- for any habit u should make ur mind to just quit. that's all,
in that only all the fun lies.
did u try anytime? just saying obvious is not correct.
ofcourse, after giving answer i realised ur question.
u want quick smoking or quit smoking.
if it is quick then just buy a cig and light it.

The Nicotine patch has been proven over and over again. I wouldn't waste your money on 'smoke away' pills or hypnosis, though some claim they work very well. Basically you need to lower your dosage of nicotine, but slowly.
I'd also recommend taking up a lot of chewing gum, as it's not always the nicotine but the 'having something to do' action.

sorry, the obvious answer is just stopping...using the patch or gum just helps your curb the cravings and still puts nicotine into your system...
my husband was a smoker for 10 years...he tried the patch, gum, classes, working out, trying to distract himself when he got a craving...
finally one day, i said "hey, you know if you dont quit smoking, you might not live to see your child graduate from high school." I know that was harsh but it worked...he quit cold turkey and hasnt had one since
he also got a rude awakening when a family member of mine, whom stopped smoking 20 years ago, was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in June, she passed away August 6th...it took her that fast and she hadnt smoked in 20 years..
you have to WANT to quit...then you can figure out from there how to keep yourself from picking up another cigarette

I know you said not to state the obvious, but just stopping tunred out to be the best way for me. I tried "cutting down" chewing the gum and all that junk. It made me want to smoke more because I was constantly thinking about not smoking. I finally had to just avoid them completely.

You are like a dieter looking for a way to eat like a pig and lose weight. Forget about it because it isn't possible ok. Just STOP.Get it through your head that you don't need a smoke. Is it that simple? Ya it's that simple, are you going to have an ache or a pain somewhere if you don't have a smoke? Use your head for christ sake , think about it.

The easiest way to quit smoking is to have a doctor tell you that you have throat cancer or lung cancer.
The second easiest way to quit smoking is: don't buy the poisonous, killer sticks.
