I believe they call it a donation, but they make you pay it. Find a church you like and call them up, give them a date and ask how much they charge. Mine was only $25, but I think it's up to at least $100 or more now.

Yes you have to pay the priest and church to get married there. It only cost a few hundred dollars. Just look up the phone number of a church near you and call. Most priests insist you book 1 year in advance.

Most churches are free, however the minister may charge a small fee to marry you if you're not a member of the church. Just call the different churches in your area (numbers should be in the phone book) and ask them if the church is available on the date you want to get married.
Neither my husband or I belonged to a church when we got married. The minister charged $75.00 and the church was no charge, we just had to make sure we cleaned up when the wedding was over by removing all the decorations and stuff.

No they do not but at most services they hold a wooden plate is passed around the congregation for them to donate money if they wish. As for meeting with a priest etc to get married, go to your local church and ask to see the priest/vicar and explain the situation-they will definitely assist you. Good luck

A far as I know... YES. If you have the right amount of money you can be married in a church. I would call the churches you're interested in and ask them about their policy on wedding services. Just ask if you need to be a parishoner. That should get the ball rolling. Good Luck.
PS- Most likey if you ask one question they'll ask you more and you'll end up w/ the info you need.

Catholic churches are not supposed to charge parishioners for the administering the sacraments. But they will accept donations.
Most Catholic churches have a wedding coordinator. Call the parish office and make an appointment.
You will be required to take a pre-marriage class which may cost a little money.
With love in Christ.

Yes most church charge for their service but I think it depends on the area, your religion and if you are not from there.
Most Churches in NJ Philadelphia area charge a non-member fee of $500 and maybe a donation. This is for Catholic and Protestant Church's
We are getting married in a historical church and they charge $1,400 but they include all the flowers and candles.

Are you a member of a Church now? If not or if you choose to marry at another Church.....you should contact that Church to find out their guidelines for marrying. For instance, some pastors won't marry you w/o having marriage counseling first. Do you plan on having marriage counseling? Counseling is very needed.

You must register and be members of whatever church you want to get married at. The priest is usually paid the day of the wedding for preforming the ceremony, and he is to be invited to the reception. Typically, a couple would pay the priest at least $100 - sometimes as much as $300.

Your phone book should have a listing of Churches and rectories. A priest will ask for a donation. For marrying you, I gave $50. It's entirely up to you. Congratulations.
