you wont be given antibiotics routinely for this - yes I KNOW it hurts. Wait until (or if -as they don't always) grow big white spots all over. Say "AHHH" in the bathroom mirror to check them out. Swollen tonsils can be cause by bacteria and by
so your doctor will need to know whether to prescribe or not (to stop germs becoming antibiotic resistant).
Meanwhile try sucking a Dequadin tablet (purchased from your local pharmacy) They taste nice, numb the throat and kill bacteria.

Hi,
I get this a number of times a year and for me the only thing that works is antibiotics.
The suggestions of salt in water and disperine in water are super and do help lots. With the salt in water do not swallow, with the disperine do swallow.
Doctors are now very relutant to remove things unless necessary. I'm looking at going privately to get mine removed as I end up choking they swell up so bad. Removing them however can have the effect that the infection goes else where, e.g. bronchitis.
Anyway, definitely try the gargling solutions for a day or two, use the dual action strepsils too and these also help numb the pain. Afterwards, do go to your doc and get advice.

Sounds like tonsillitis. Drink plenty of fluids and gargle regularly with salt water or disprin dissolved in water. If it doesnt clear in another day go to Dr as you may need an antibiotic.

You probably need to get it checked out. It should be recorded on to your notes so taht teh doc knows how often you get this. You may have to think about having your tonsils removed though. I had mine done when I was 32....I wish Id had it done as a kid!!!! lol

sounds (obviously) like you have tonisilitis. you dont need antibiotics if you dont want them. it will go away in due course. if you dont have a fever anymore then you are probably on the mend. visit gp for peace of mind, but you should be fine. put your feet up and try to get some rest (yes, paracetam. and rest really is the best cure). hope you feel better soon

it is conceivable to get some STDs orally. Sore throats are between the indicators. flow to a specialized sexual health health center or your community healthcare professional to get it appeared at. they could be able to attempt with a swab and treatment might want to be so easy as some pills.
