This question is in response to an earlier question I read.
Someone actually insinuated that gays and lesbians cannot love.
Do some of you honestly believe this?
Are some of you really this stupid?

China, If you honestly don't know why I care so much, do yourself a favor, get yourself some humanity.
And for the record, I'm not gay. I just hate to see a segment of our population being discriminated for no reason whatsoever.

Um you DO realize that marriage is a LEGAL institution right?
You cannot be married in a church or other religious place without the paperwork, you understand that right?
Conversely, you can be married in City Hall without any mention of a deity or other magic-sky-pixie, you understand that right?

--To China: I care because they deserve the right to be happy just as much as any straight person does. Some ignorant people try to destroy that because their religious leader says that a 2000 year old book says it's bad and that they shouldn't like it.

Never trust the fundamentalists or the masses. History has shown that they're the ones who are targeted by despots and theocrats which is how Hitler, Saddam, and the Ayatollahs took over. The ignorant fundies and others never question anything they've been taught, preferring to delude themselves into thinking they have real opinions and beliefs when all they really have is a combination of lazyiness, repression and projection.

Why sure. However God has instituted marriage as one man and one women and has said that in marriage they 2 become 1. This cannot be the same with 2 of the same gender. Many people also love their sons and daughters with a great love but that doesn't mean they should be allowed to marry. Many gays want this mainly for benefits and his could open the door for elderly to marry a younger family member or what ever just to continue benefits.

I don't believe that for a second!! It's complete ignorance and foolishness to think that....love is love!!! My uncle and his boyfriend have been together for over 10 years and they are such a wonderful happy and loving couple!! I think the discrimination against gays is so absurd!! And to answer your last question...YES sadly some people really are that stupid..funny that it still takes me by surprise though!! Good question hon!

People are much the same regardless of sexuality. I don't believe that they are any different from others in expressing their feelings for a partner.

SOME (NOT ALL) of us straight people tend to think onesided.....when we look at gay people we tend to think of them only sexually and not as a loving couple. Unfortunately yes, some are that stupid....

Of course homosexuals can love, they feel very deeply I'm sure. Just like everyone else. Whoever told you that was incorrect and not able to see what is right before their face.

'Love' as in feelings and emotions? Of course they can. They are as much human beings as anyone. If they cannot love, then we cannot either.
