i was thinking one would win over the other because i didn't know if drugs can cancel each other out if taken at the same time.

i guess another example would be like a low blood pressue and a high blood pressure medicine or really any opppsite drugs.
Caffeine and sleeping pills were the only thing that came to mind.
or something like an anti-depresant and a depressant i don't know i really can't think of any other truly opposite drugs.

You will feel mighty funny, maybe sick. Chances are, the two pills will not cancel each other out, your body will be going through a war, basically. One drug fighting the other for domination, if you will. If you have done this, and feel unwell, my advise is to have a glass of wine (if you are old enough), and lay down. Try and relax as much as possible, so as to not get your energy up, so your heart, and blood are not racing. The wine will not hurt you mixed with those pills, as long as you dont make it a habit. Have a small trash can or bucket if you think you might puke, so you dont have to get up and run to the bathroom, and get your body excited. After a 1/2 hour or so, you should be able to fall asleep. But, please dont mix the two, ok?
A lot of pain medicines, like Tylenol, and Excederin, have caffine in them to help boost the pain medicines to work faster, yes, but I never heard of a sleeping pill containing caffine. If caffine was intended to boost sleeping aids to work faster, then doctors and manufactures of medicines would add it to them. I may be wrong, but I dont think so. My doctor prescribes me with sleep aids, Trazadone, Remeron, and has told me to avoid caffine completely. No coffee, no sodas with caffine, no Tylenol, no Excederin, no aspirin, etc. So common sense tell me that caffine does not help boost a sleeping pill.

You get a roller coaster effect that can be deadly. Speeding up the heart and then depressing the system. This can actually cause a heart attack in some people.
They don't cancel each other out.

You would get all the bad effects of both, and none of the good.
Did you know that they are prescribing Prozac and Viagra together now.
If the Viagra doesn't work, the patient doesn't care.

bad results... caffeine acts as a catalist for many drugs - making them work faster and better. always be careful of drug interactions!!
