Friendship is the basis for love, a strong love. Lust, attraction, looks. . all that fades over time. So, yes, friendship is indeed something special. I had a male friend about 10 years ago, we met a couple years after my divorce had been finalized. We worked together and became the best of friends. In fact, I'd say he was closer to me than my girlfriends, we did everything together. He adored me and I knew it but I didn't want to ruin the friendship, and deep inside I may have been a little nervous about starting a relationship as I was just divorced two years prior. Anyway, we lost touch over the years. And to be honest with you, I thought about him a lot because I never had the kind of relationship I had with him with anyone else, and I missed it. I also realized as I got older just how difficult it really is to find someone you vibe with after all the "newness" has worn off. . .. But I used to think I ever ran into my friend if he's not married, I'm never going to let go of him. As fate has it, we ran into each other a year ago at a McDonald's - and we're getting married next year -- and he's still the most wonderful, loyal, warm, caring person he used to be. We can talk about anything and everything. Talked about blessed, I'm marrying my best friend.

I think there are two types of love. Theres the love you feel for your friends and family, people you care about, and theres falling in love, if that happens, wow you don't need to ask, you just know.

Of course. Love makes the world go round. I have a few buddies I hug in public, but nothing happens in private, and if asked I would say "yes, I love him/her"

Real friends are the people who love you and you love. I love my bestfriend who is female but I am not in love with her. I do not desire to sleep with her or spend all my time with her. Do you mean being in love?

Yes and if you marry your best friend, that can be lovely because you already know that you are compatible and have fun together - worked for me.
