Bifocal glass are given to someone who needs them or finds them easier to use. It is not a question of age. I had bifocal glasses that had clear glass on the top so I could read and look up at the television without removing my glasses. It is all a matter of personal choice. If you are uncomfortable with the idea of wearing bifocals they have ones that do not show the line in between so no one else has to know you are wearing them. Bifocals are normally given when someone needs better vision for reading and distance.

Yes one can get bifocal glasses at any age. You could look into laser surgery to fix one of the vision problems then you wont need bifocal glasses.

By doctor you mean optometrist right? It's entirely possible you know to recommend bifocals at such a young age.

They can recommend them for people earlier than that. They normally recommend them for people older than that, but sometimes they are required sooner.
