In a sense, religion is in itself a gamble.

There are a lot of religions, and each says that it is correct and the others are not. Many of these say that if you do not follow them, you are probably going to hell. So, you have to decide which one to take. Which religion do you bet on? The odds are hundreds to one, and the only reward for winning doesn't show up until you die anyway.

Sorry. I don't even pray for my mom-in-law to win Lotto. The only reason most people want lotto is out of greed.

Why not pray for something to help you make it through the month? Why not pray for new business ventures? Why not pray for aid in a new business? Why not pray for new opportunities?

I won't. I see this as a form of gambling, which the Lord prohibits. He won't grant things out of His will, so this would be a waste of time.

It doesn't work that way. Our Creator cannot give us freedom to
do what we want, and then come and run things. That's
contrary.
Only evil spiritual realities will help you in such a way, and they
demand a price!

No, I pray for needs, not wants. I will gladly pray that God give you all you stand in need of.
