For the last couple months, my kitty has been becoming increasingly bratty. Often times I will be petting her, she's purring away, and then suddenly attacks my hand- often biting it hard. She knows she's not supposed to do that, because she quickly jumps back right or runs away right after she does it. Also, even though she likes to cuddle, she doesn't sleep with me any more.

She's about 9 months old- is this the equivalent of a kitty teenager? What can be done ab out this? Thanks for any advice

Honestly its natural to them. Cats / kittens like to play. You know it isn't appropriate, but for them it is. This might sound silly, but when she does this, and it is too hard or hurts, yell Oww! or something that conveys she hurt you. Her ears will likely go back and she may run away. If she doesn't, set her down away from you. (don't hit or have a yelling spree, that only makes them scared of you, and thats not what were after, we dont want her to bite, remember) After a few times of this, you might notice that she doesn't do it quite as much, or she will look at you to see your reaction if she starts to do it again. Eventually I promise that your kitten will not do that unless you begin the rough housing for the most part. Right now, its just an innate trait to her and most cats. Since she loves to be pet now, that trait will likely continue, and you will have a totally friendly buddy with you, as long as you don't hit her. If you do that, all bets are off, and she will become scared of you, or at the very least apprehensive. You dont want that. Be nice. Cats don't think like we do.

"Some cats like to bite. It could be a sign of affection. A bad sign. she may be mad because she don't get to sleep with you. Ha ha.Try to hit her gently in the face this might help. Tell her NO- This will insult her."

not the face, Just a gentle (1 finger) tap on the nose.

that tends to happen alot with female cats....they are more independant then male cats and dont like to be snuggled or pet too much.....since she is begining to come out of her kitten stage she doenst need attention constantly given to her...i have two male cats one is a kitten and even he isnt contantly wanting to play with me all of the time anymore...he would rather run around the house and explore....she probably doesnt sleep with you anymore because cats are nocturnal....since she is getting out of the kitten phase she doesnt need as much sleep so she probably wants to prowl around at night....

good luck i hope this helps!

possibly he does not understand he's been "fastened" Male cats will chunk women on the back of the neck in the time of the breeding just to hold the female nevertheless. The 'chunk' does no longer wreck the floor.

Has she recently had her rabies shot? I heard sometimes that the rabies vaccine can induce aggression and fear for a time in the individual cat or dog vaccinated.

My cat started acting like that and it bothered me, but I just let her alone and after a while she began acting nice again.

Stick your finger down her throat just enuf to gag her. When you do this, she will get the idea she's not supposed to bite you.
