A lot of space is granted by the public television to the news regarding the Pope and the Catholic Church. Should the public televisions grant more space to information and leaders of other religions? And when I say other religions, I mean the Evangelists and the other Christian religions, but not only. For example, do you think that the space granted to the Evangelists is proportionate to one reserved to the Catholics, according to the number of the adherents they have?

No, there is not equal visibility. I'm sure there are many small religions we've never heard of because they're not visible to us at all.

As to public television, I'm not sure. But I do listen to public radio all the time and they rarely talk about religion but when they do it seems to be spread out among various faiths (I've heard stories on Islam, Catholicism, Judaism, Evangelicalism, Buddism, LDS, etc.).

I don't see it makes too much difference. I believe more people know who the Pope is. But the radio station I listen to does a good job of giving "equal" time to all.

It is just a marketing tool. Media outlets cater for the biggest audience which in turn means bigger revenue. Don"t kid yourselves if 10 000 muslims suddenly migrated to your city I think we would be listening and watching Allah on TV.

I do not care one way or the other what the media chooses to highlight. It is not really our choice.
