Delta flights begin in December 2006 to Dakar, Senegal (from where direct flights will continue to Johannesburg, South Africa) and Accra, Ghana, Delta will become the only major U.S. airline to serve the continent of Africa.

Johannesburg and Dakar from Atlanta, and a nonstop service to Accra from the world’s financial capital of New York from December. They also have a code share agreement with nationwide in South Africa

Delta Air Lines does not operate to any point in Africa. Rather, it has code-share arrangements to serve points in Africa with Delta's code on flights operated by partners, especially Air France and Royal Air Maroc.
