It is said that head scarfs do not have to be worn as part of religion so then she has no right to wear it. So If I made up my own religion called "FLARB" and we all had to have cupholders attached to our noses would the government have to recognise that?

I don't really understand what's the problem if a women chooses to wear a headscarf. It is her right...why don't we see much opposition when it comes to 'rights' for women going topless, nudity and pornography? I think these issues are the ones that need to be addressed. A headscarf doesn't corrupt or goes againt social manners, does it?

Well I wear a head scarf too although smaller and it is not officially required by my faith although I feel called to do so. So do what you wish if you don't mind the looks.
