Well from what I read on a couple of tech sites, it could have been better.

All the recommendations I've read say to download and install it.

One key issue is that Microsoft won't allow you to acquire all the updates that they offer at their update page. You have to have Internet Explorer to do so and why would anyone want a browser (say IE6) instead of the newer, more functional, and more secure IE7?

Current articles I've read claim IE7 and Firefox are virtually tied as far as overall functionality and security are concerned. Most of the discussion I hear/read are simply based on "personal wants/needs, and lots of personal opinions".

I use both IE7 and Firefox. Typically I use Firefox for general Internet browsing, and I use IE for all my Microsoft related interactions, and for my secure, say online banking, transactions.

JMHO. Hope it helps.

Since switching to Firefox I've had no serious problems on my pc from the internet.
I hear IE7 has tabbed browsing, and is safer than IE 6.
But I also hear some people have installation problems as IE7 may conflict with software you already have installed. That worries me.

I'll probably stick to Firefox and Opera.

I'm thinking of switching to Linux when they take away support for XP anyway. :)
