Dogs do this if they aren't getting enough utrition, my cousins dogs did this. You can try a new food or you can put some tabassco sauce on it. the taste will discourage him eating it.

You may want to address her diet. Dogs can smell lots of fillers in their poop that isn't digested in their system (CORN). Getting her on a better food filled with more protein will make her poop not smell as tasty.
See a vet as well, there are lots of products to add to food that make poop taste bad once it comes out. Eventually she'll grow out of it.
The best thing you can do is to block her from eating it at all costs by cleaning it up quicker and taking her to a potty spot more often.

I raised Boston Terriers for about 10 years and yes it is common with pups and adult dogs as well. If you will get some Adolphs meat tenderizer and sprinkle it in the pups food everyday for about a week this may stop this action. It may not, but it did with some of my dogs. The problem is that there is something lacking in the dogs diet, and they can smell what's in the poop other than the stink. LOL You might check with your vet and see if the food your giving the pup is shall we say, "up to snuff" in the proper nutriants. It's a nasty habit and it even nastier if you think about it when the dog is giving you some kisses. Good luck.

It is not unusual for dogs to eat the droppings of other animals, and even their own, especially when they are young. A dogs sense of smell is greater than 500 times ours, and something that smells bad to us is only a different smell to her. A dog is able to detect smells from all the different ingredients in anything she eats. As most droppings contain some undigested food, I would suggest you change what she is eating, and see if that helps. In any case she will probably grow out of it in time. There are some products you can add to her food to discourage this , but I would ask your vet first !

Dogs do tend to eat feces and it's not a good thing because of all the disease that is carried in poop could be very harmful for the dog. Try keeping the dog on a leash at all times so that you can limit the dog to what you want it to do.

yes it is common with puppies, there are products you can get at a pet store (petco or petsmart) for just that purpose. Its called for-bid or something like that and you put it on their food. it makes their poop taste bad to them
also most of the time they will grow out of it.

Ask your vet but she maybe missing a vitamine in her diet. I had the same problem and when I asked my vet they said that was the problem. Ever since she has not done it- because we added it into her diet.
Also ask your pet store... I can't remember what the name of the food is b ut there is a food made especially for mini dfashounds. That's what we feed ours. If they don't know I can look at home and let you know!

YES!!!! I worked at a pet store for 4 years, and several people had the same problem. You can buy a product that the pup can consume, which is in a pill form and that will take care of your problem. (Deter pills)This is also why most pups have worms......... so you might need to get the pup checked out for that if you haven't already.
