Ramadan is the holy Month of the Islamic Lunar Calender. The Revelation of the last and full Message of God on Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)i.e the glorious Qur'an was completed in this month. This month is an opportunity for us from Allah in which we can practice purifying our souls by fasting, fully devoting ourselves to Allah and preventing ourselves from sins.
Dear friend! Its is not possible for you to fully discover Islam here in Yahoo!Answers. You must first do some research by visiting Islamic sites. And remember never ever cosult an online version of Holy Qur'an because a lot of people are deliberately trying to misguide people about Islam. I suggest that u consult an Islamic scholar. May Allah guide you on the right path!Amen

Dear friend,

Ramadan is a holy month because it is the month the first verses of Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad and that was in Laylat Al-Qadr 9The Night of Value).

We fast during the month every day from dawn to sunset; this means refrain from food, drinks and sex. The purpose of fasting is piety. Muslims have to watch their behaviour extra closely during this month so they do not gossip, backbite, argue or say bad words.

During the nights of Ramadan, it is recommended that they pray Taraweeh (between 8 and 20 rakaat) to submit to Allah.

Reading the Quran is also recommended during this month; at least one chapter every day so that you read the whole Quran at least once during this month (there are 30 chapters in the Quran).

Ramadan is the month of mercy, compassion, charity, feeling for the poor, visiting relatives, patience, etc

Below are some recommended websites (where you can find the Quran and can downlowd it with explanation) for you to have a look and learn more

May Allah bless us all.

u r most welcome!!!

normally muslims, offer prayers daily to show ur gratitude n submission to Allah almighty, who created us n created whole universe.
but in holy month of ramazan,we put our all efforts in our prayers.we fast for only n solely Allah's sake,n fast means avoiding all bad deeds, trying to aviod all bad thoughts.we offer regular prayers, ask more gently from Allah, ask for our forgiveness n His blessings.
try to offer prayers ba jamaat.n last 10 days,we wake up at nights n pray,n read Quran.as 1 night among the odd nights of ramzan is lala-tul-Qadr.where Allah has promised special blessings.

u can find Quran's english translation, on www.islamicity.com
but beware of anti-islamic sites.

n u can also get translation of Quran in written form,by Pithall or yusuf Ali,in market

may Allah guide u , n bless u(ameen)

plz dont learn. there is nothing. ramadam means waking up 4 am and eating like a pig, then not eating for about 13 hrs and then eat again at 6pm, and stuff urself like a pig. fasting is abt not thinking abt food. that is the true meaning of fast. our hindu religion says it clear and correct and is the true way. If u fast for a period of time and u ask god for something, that wish will come true, believe me. as a hindu are on the right track.
by the way the prophet mohammed is not the kalki avatar, mohammed is mahamada a demon, who was born in kaliyuga

Hello.
Ramadan is a month of the Arabic calander. We, muslims believe that in this month it is our duty to perform Saom / Roza / Fasting, which is actually to abstain oneself from eating, drinking, and sexual activities from sunrise to sunset.

The most famous three translations of the Holy Quran by (Yusuf Ali, Shakir, and Pickthal). can be found in http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/
