Nearly every religion teaches the principle of chastity before marriage, but fewer and fewer people are observing it. The Family: A Proclamation to the World teaches that "God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife" (¶ 4) and that "children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony" (¶ 7).
In today's American culture, most people consider sex before marriage normal. Movies, television shows, and popular music all reflect this permissive standard. God, however, has not rescinded the strict standard of chastity he taught in the Old and New Testaments. The Proclamation warns that "individuals who violate covenants of chastity . . . will one day stand accountable before God." Further, the Proclamation maintains that sexual permissiveness is a major contributor to the disintegration of the family. That disintegration, the Proclamation warns, "will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets" (¶ 8).
The Proclamation's language may seem sharp to some, perhaps even offensive. But research supports its point of view.

You have a point, and I have to agree that it's the American culture and our values as a nation, decaying, declining, demoralized. It's not just a Christian thing...it comes from the media as well, as you mention, BUT....who controls the media????
Keep in mind that altho promiscuity is a sin, there are many other sins, just as terrible. God wants us to keep all the Commandments...and we will stand accountable to God for everything we've ever said or done! Even a derogatory word about another person...so...we don't have the right to judge anyone...we are ALL guilty of sin; that's why Christ died for ALL of us. And don't forget God's forgiveness...because God loves us all, even those you mention, and once they have been shown the error of their ways, and they are truly repentant, and will change their ways to God's ways, our loving God will forgive them.
Altho I am personally very much against the decline of American values, and I can see what it's done to us as a nation, it's certainly NOT just a "christian" thing! Also, remember that God alone is the judge of this, as well as the judge of our hearts. I won't judge others and their sins, because I'm not perfect; and that's God's job to do so.

Most women have sex before marriage without father's consent as they have already left home and had a job and was supporting themself. You can't blame sex before marriage without father's consent on all societies ills, that doesn't make any sense at all. For those who have sex whilst still at home, do probably with their parent's consent. The only parents who get upset are probably 'Religious'. Kids kill each other for many reasons, probably partly to do with 'peer pressure', access to weapons and drugs that change their personalities and boredom. Blaming Feminism on father's lack of 'power' is so laughable, good try though, I'm sure some people will agree with you.

Well, while you have laid out extremely well thought out points of view, you seem to ignore the source for it's cause and effects,American culture, movies, television shows, and popular music. It is indeed overwhelming on young hearts and minds to sort out the truth between having faith and their passions, when even amongst adults there seems to be contempt towards any type of sincerity concerning faith.

God gave us the free will to live righteous, or to be sinful, and unfortunately, many choose the latter. A lot of people get angry at God and say, why did he give us free will? Without free will , love cannot exist. Love is given freely, never coerced, nor programmed into a person.

Well, you are just preaching so this isn't really a question, and you really don't want an answer. I'm curious where you got the statistic "MOST". What percent of women in the US sleep with several men before they get married? Do you think that it is because "MOST" men sleep with several women before they get married? Or is that not as important to you?

christianity isn't as strict as islam, especially turkey.
do you want it to be?
in turkey a woman can be stoned for adultery
they're quite strict on the whole being a virgin before marriage to the extent that part of the procedure for marriage is to check the woman's vagina to ensure virginity.
& the marriage is off if for any reason (and there can be many) this proof is not found...
do you really want us to have something similar?

What research are you quoting? Can you tell us? I don't think most christian women have sex with several men before getting married. And what about the sexually active men? I believe the bible mentions them too. Get married or burn in sin isn;t for women only.

It is not only the US, and all the 'civilized, modern, western' countries as well. I am interested in reading answers to this question because I am sure chastity is as much a virtue in Christianity as it is in Islam.
May Allah bless us all.

how many shoes do you try on before you purchase one that hopefully will last more than a few months (a year)... well.... same thing. We also live with each other before we make any long term commitments.... religion (any religion) doesn't have anything to do with it.
