My husband snores really bad at night and I can't sleep. Does anyone know how to stop it or even tone it down somehow?

Snoring is caused by blockage of the airways in the back of the mouth and nose. Avoid heavy meals, alcohol, sleeping pills, and antihistamines before bedtime. Sleep on side rather than back. Go to bed at the same time every night to establish regular sleeping patterns. Tell your husband to let you fall asleep first.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a common cause of snoring (especially in overweight adults); this is when your body wakes you up at night (usually without you consciously knowing it) because your brain is not getting enough oxygen. If you don't feel well rested after a full night of sleep, ask your doctor about this. Any medications you're on may also contribute to snoring. Do you still have your tonsils? if they are quite large, they can also cause snoring.

Don't let him sleep, then he won't snore :-) Or move into another room, that will help lessen the noise that you have to tolerate.
There are those snore strips to put across the nose, they work fairly well. Good Luck.

Jam a rolled up sock in his mouth. Have him tested for sleep apnea. They will give him a machine that prevents snoring, CPAP.

Many ways. Make him lose weight. If that doesn't work, send him to a sleep therapist who will fit him to a CPAP machine. Or... separate bedrooms on opposite sides of house. Ear plugs. Divorce.
