No, it isn't caused by fat; it's caused by dehydration. I've been pregnant 2ce and only have a few whereas my skinny sister got them as a teenager like you.
The difference between us is I drink a lot of water, while she'll drink anything but water. I used to hate water untill I started flavoring it with clear juices like apple, grape, cranberry. Orange juice doesn't taste good diluted. Anyway I'd say you can put 1/6 -1/8 part juice to your water and it works really well. You need to hydrate yourself from the inside out. Cocoa butter doesn't exactly hydrate you as a fat it coats you and prevents water from leaving your skin, but the water has to be there to begin with otherwise it doesn't help.

Removal of stretch marks is the most effective when they are just formed, i.e. when they are reddish in color. Dermatologists recommend various treatments for the marks, but their removal is very difficult once the marks fade. Although, one can use Olive oils, Coconut butter or Vitamin E or Vitamin A for massaging over the marks. Aloe Vera Gel soothes irritating skin which has been recently stretched. For an effective prevention of stretch marks, exercising is the best bet, as it keeps the muscles and skin firm. Also eating foods, which are rich in proteins, Vitamin C and E help in promoting and maintaining healthy skin.

It's nothing to do with slouching over the computer - if so, the world would be full of stretch marked people.

They come from losing weigth quickly as well as gaining weight.

I had them before I became pregnant from when I dropped lost of weight as a teenager (was never overwieght, only underweight).

They will be with you permanently, but they will fade with time. Cocoa butter is no use what so ever - it is just nature making them fade. This is supposed to be used before the body stretches in pregnancy - it certainly won't stop them from appearing.

Your no different than many teenagers so don't worry.

5' 9" and only 14 is the answer you have been growing by leaps and bounds and are not finished yet, but don't worry they will not be that noticable at your age group your skin is still very flexible and resiliant, more than likely by the time you're 18 they will be gone unless you do something foolish like get pregnant. and besides be more concerned about your education and who you are as a person inside, the real you and not on transiant and un important physical malodys. after all you want people to truely care about the real you and not your apperance. anyone who only cares about your apperance is not a real friend and more than likely are using you for something else.

stretch marks are caused not only by being overweight , but by the body growing too.

* symtoms *

the skin being stretched beyond it's capacity
the underlying tissue tears
the body responds by forming scar tissue
fresh stretch marks look pink , red , brown or purple
over time the colour fades
the strech mark over time becomes a shimmering silver line ( more white to me ) and it may look slightly indented.
the scar is permanent

vitamin e cream is good to use on the skin
