I'm a buddhist, and I still can't figure out why muslims are not allowed to share a meal with us guys or with hindu's . Will someone tell me why the koran disallows this ?

I'm sorry if that has ever happened. time for you to make some new Muslims friends. My family invites people over all the time, Muslims or otherwise.

FYI, Muslims follow strict dietary laws based on the Quran.

Animals (herbivores only) that die naturally, blood, flesh of swine and anything that has been sacrificed in the name of other than the one God of all human beings is not allowed for Muslims. There are other conditions as well, like the food cannot be cooked in alcohol or lard, etc.

All seafood is halaal if cooked properly according to the same rules.

And ofcourse, all vegetarian food is halaal.

I've lived in Singapore and had many Buddhist friends, one of who was a monk. I used to eat with him and I'm a bearded Muslim. So I'm sorry if you were misinformed.

Peace brother.

I used to work in a resturant with a family of Muslims. They never had a problem shareing a meal with me, actually after his nightly prayers we made it a point if the resturant was not busy to sit down and eat together, and talk about the day, I really valued that time, as I felt is was special between him and I. Most bosses wouldn't do that for any employee, especially someone of a diffrent faith, but he did. I think it was beacuse we both understood on a very personal level religious harassment, and how painful it is. I still go and see them to this day, and eat dinner occasionally even though I haven't worked there for years.

If youve been treated differently by the muslims of your community you need to understand thats how they are culturally.

Ive yet to see any muslim get off the table when he/she is sharing the meal with non muslims.

However, God does not approve of alcohol and pork meat consumption and if the non muslims indulge in any of that the muslim should leave as a sign of respect for Gods wishes.

Hope that helps.

That's not true. We're just not allowed to eat anything that's haraam like pork, meat from carnivorous animals or animals which have died of natural causes...I have many Hindu friends and some Buddhist ones too, we eat together frequently, we even exchange sweet meats on Eid and Diwali!

The only reason is that they might not be sure that the food you have cooked was Halal. This could have things we Muslims aren't allowed to eat. But as Muslim we are allowed to eat with anyone as long as it wont comprise this.
In less you are talking about this Month wish is Ramadam and we are fasting and don't eat from sun up till sun down.

buddhist sometimes eats pork and "non halal" food. koran disallow this is because to muslim, pigs and dogs are something opposite to them or not good to them. i ever had lots of meal with muslims but i must take caution for not giving my friend food which contains pork.

I don't know what I am but I have shared meals with Muslims.

Trust me, Muslims know how to put on the feed bag! The food they eat is wonderful!

share a meal...Do you mean eat the same food you or hindu's eat?
Well, its got nothing to do with your religion. The Qur'an does not 'disallow' eating with hindus, bhuddists or christians. It only forbids eating food that is not halal, which includes pig meat, carcass of dead animals, animals not slaughtered in allah's name, to name a few.
