My parents & parents-in-law told me that beans, nuts, egg, cucumber....etc cannot be taken during this time. Is this true ? Is there anyother things that he should refrain from at this point of time ?

Give him whatever he wants, there is absolutely no link between foods and problems with chickenpox, it's all a load of old bunk.
If you want him to feel better, Piriton syrup (so long as he is over a year old) will help kill the itchies, Calpol or children's Nurofen for fever, and baths with bicarbonate of soda in will help the itchies too.

I've had chickenpox before, and don't recall any dietary restrictions.

The only exception is give your child things that are easy to swallow.

It IS possible to have chicken lesions in your throat, ears, etc. and swallowing can be painful.(I had them and it was quite unpleasant).

Hope he feels better.

Other recommendations..
*Benadryl is a godsend...
*Using calamine lotion and Aveeno soaks are great
*Gloves or mittens...to help prevent scratching--or cut fingernails short

This is not true let him eat what he wants for now because if he gets the chicken pox in his mouth he wont feel like much to eat so soft foods such as soups will be better for him if this happens untill they clear up good luck

He should be fine it's just itchy and he may have a runny nose or fever for some part of it but no worries where food is concerned.
Do mind him during the feverish stage i've heard it can (Rarely) cause lung problems but when I say reare i mean rare. Calamine lotion and a child friendly antihistamine and lots of videos!!

No restrictions that I know of. Thats a bunch of crap. when in doubt call the dr. but in this case rest assured if thoses food caused harm to anyone with the chicken pox it would be well known, general knowledge. As well known as chicken pox are if you couldn't have something it would be spoken about freely and you'd know.

there are no restictions on what your child can eat,as long as he feels comfortable that's all that matters.if he is struggling to swallow, then yoghurt, soup, milkshake, ice cream etc, will substitute for the food that he cant eat.your son will let you know what he can and cant eat.good luck, but bear in mind this is a common childhood illness, not anything serious.

give him anything he wants to eat. But make sure you buy some cucumber(dont cut or slice) and place them in different locations in your house. This kinda stops the other people in the house from getting it and in most cases, it helps in curing chicken pox. good luck....

My four children all had chickenpox when they were younger I have never heard of it in my life what to eat and not to eat when having chickenpox.
I just used camoline lotion and lots of luke warm baths to stop the itching.

I have not heard this before.
When my son had chicken pox the doctor did not tell him to avoid any foods. I think you should ask your doctor to be on the safe side.
When my son got chicken pox I caught it off him and did not notice any foods making me feel better or worse.
I hope he starts feeling better soon.

No, none of that is true.
A child with chickenpox can eat anything that s/he feels like eating.
As with all illnesses, it' important to keep him drinking lots of water and resting.
There are no dietary restrictions whatsoever.
