Why does Islam permit beating up one's wife?

Salam Alaikum Brothers and Sisters,
I am a convert into Islam but still have a lot to learn and have a lot of questions. I have read the whole Quran with the meaning 3 times and came up with a question as to why Islam and Quran permits a husband to beat up his wife for disobeying him?
Why do the rate of Domestic Violence highest among our Muslim Brothers and Sister?
Why do men use the verse from the Quran (4:34) as an excuse to beat their wives?
And what does Quran say about those men who beat their wives? Is there any punishment for them?
Also I have another question that why do men say that there will be majorty of men in the Heaven than women. Why so even after seeing how many men torture and abuse their wives.
This is world known fact I dont want to be rude to my muslim brothers and I know there are some of them who are not the way I am describing alot of them here.
And why do Allah (swt) promised men virgin wves in heaven? What about women? Isnt there a reward for a women

The men beat their wives because they don't have the balls to fight another man. Men that beat their wives need an excuse because they deep down know it is wrong but get their rocks off being the "big guy".
This "Allah" promises virgins so the women won't know how sad the man is in the sex field. Maybe, if there is an Allah, she will let the women pick her own reward, like maybe, no Muslim men? :)

People of violence aren't interested in truly obeying the laws of their belief, they are only interested in finding obscure passages from whatever holy book they subscribe to, that would seem to justify the barbaric, animistic behaviour they really want to engage in. Men beat their wives because the desire to abuse is already there before they become religious. And, instead of being cleansed of such defective characters by their dogma, they actually find encouragement for it within the very organisation that would be expected to be in opposition to it. Men of low character, posing as leaders and beacons of morality within the religious organisation, who seek to influence other, like minded people in order to achieve whatever twisted agenda they may have, is one of the main reasons for the amount of violence within all religious groups, not just Islam. Illiterate masses, who rely on the so called enlightened to interpret the scriptures for them, also leave themselves open to the same warped influences.
I believe the majority of Muslims are not violent in thought or action though. It is extremely unfortunate that a highly visible minority are able to tarnish the image of the majority, simply because ignorance screams louder than reason.

Are you asking about Islam or about men using excuses for beating their wife?

The beating of or physical abuse of children, woman, men, or any violent behaviour against them by family members is not confined to muslims. Where in the world did you get this info?
I would asume american properganda.

You've said it yourself. They USE it as an excuse to justify their animal behavior. What man in his right mind would hit a lady, that too his wife??

May be for the benefit of the beaten, so that she is reformed and prevented from entering the hell. In the same way, the hapless heathen are liable to be butchered as a measure of mercy so that they do not continue to lead the unholy life.

The christain bible also permits this but you cannot use a stick thicker than your thumb. ( the rule of thumb) all religions rely on violence to enforce their edicts. that is one reason why it is a bad idea to mix religion and political power.
