I don't think it is worth for them, unless the number of people with this allergy rises significantly.
When a lot of people started to have a diet, they improved the menus, so probably the same will happen in a few decades whel allergies become even more common.
P. S.: My dad's wife had wheat allergy too and a few years ago all of a sudden it was gone. Good luck. :)

I also have a gluten intolerance and it is a real pain to eat fast food at all - especially since Im lactose intolerant too!!!
I think its a nice idea to introduce wheat free things- they are defiinately more people around with this intolerance than there used to be.. why not stast a petition and send it to Ronald McDonald and see what happens.. Its worth a shot!!

My brother is allergic to wheat as well and is unable to find a fast food place that has no wheat in it's breads. He will bring Potato bread or corn meal bread with him and change the buns himself. Perhaps this is will help till the Fast Food industry catches up and figures out there are people that cannot eat wheat product.

I'm not allergic to wheat, but my aunt has a gluten allergy. She lives in Australia (not sure where you are) and she's found that wheat-allergy-friendly foods are becoming more common (though not as quickly as she would like). Many restaurants will now put your burger on a big iceberg lettuce leaf and other places will give you the "body" of your sandwich, etc. with a substitute for bread/toast with things like veggies on the side, eggs, etc. Keep asking/writing in at web sites. It will help your chances! Good luck!

McDonald's in Sweden do Gluten free buns, not sure if they do it here in the UK but someone told me they do if you ask for it (haven't had a burger since my diagnosis - I'm Gluten intolerant so what is the worst for me). I have had kebabs without the bread which is fine, and I buy gluten free pizza bases and make my own which is healthier anyway.

Perhaps you need a wave of Authentic Mexican Take Aways to supplant these hamburger places. Apart from Northern Mexico where they DO make Tortilla and all the other wrappers from Wheat Flour - the Vast majority of Mexico makes it's Tortilla from Corn Flour (Maize). They use this flour as a thickener in sauces and casseroles, and wheat productss are nowhere to be seen.
Unfortunately most of the eateries in Britain masquerading as Mexican, are really Texican and you cannot be certain that they do not use a lot of wheat products in their food.

I was told you could get the gluten removed from the wheat. That they sell this type of wheat in certain breads at the health food stores. Yes, .... No?

I had never heard of this problem until a few years ago.
Three of my Friends do have wheat intolerance, and it can be just as deadly as peanut allergy.
I think more shops and supermarkets are beginning to address the problem, by including special sections of produce that meet this dietary requirement.
Lets hope it will spread to fast food establishments such as you have mentioned.
The cost of these products is much higher, and so company's will wish to ignore them. Maybe governments should start to subsidise these products, so as to make them more freely available at reasonable prices for everyone?

Yes i think they should do wheat free stuff in Fast food restaurants, because its more common to have an allergy to wheat than people think, and they miss out.

My daughter had diverse foodstuff intolerances. We used to apply buckwheat (buckwheat isn't concerning wheat) flour. We made our very own bread, which became somewhat sticky and heavy, yet she enjoyed it. We have been in Sydney on the time and ok supported.
