You'll have no trouble getting the soft top part out, but in order to get the root out, you're going to have to go digging between the root and the bone with a very slim but extremely strong instrument - kind of exactly like dentists have and know how to use. If you don't do this, you will end up with an infection (if you don't have one already) and more pain than you can imagine. If you do have an infection and try to remove your own tooth, you'll just push it deeper into your jaw bone and end up in bad shape. Those "shards of tooth" will be at the bottom of a hole that is only 4 or 5 mm wide, but 15-20 mm deep. Be careful not to damage the nerve at the bottom of the hole if it's a lower tooth, because this could leave your lip numb for the rest of your life. And whatever you do, don't puncture your maxillary sinus if it's an upper tooth, or you will end up in the hospital with an infection.

The trick to getting teeth out smoothly is to ask someone who has done a hundred or a thousand to do it for you. I'm sure I could not do what you do for a living and you should not try to do what I do for a living. We could both get into a lot of trouble and I know that at least one of us could hurt themselves.

Do not do that!!! you will be in so much pain you're gonna wish you had just paid the money to get it pulled professionally. I'm not sure where you live and how much dental work costs there, but i live in northwest ga and i had a tooth pulled last year which only cost about 2 hundred dollars.I would suggest finding a dental college near your home that has an emergency center, they will pull your tooth for really cheap, i think you can save over 50% of what it would cost in a private office, good luck, i hope this helps.

Please do not attempt to extract your tooth at home. If you can not afford a dentist the best advice I can give to you is to look on-line or in the phone book for any dental schools in your area. They will offer to have a dental student do the extraction under supervision from an instructor for very low fee. My husband went that route when his back molar cracked open and they even were able to give him medicine to ease pain and prevent infection. Not to scare you but if you try at home you may not be able to extract all of the tooth ( especially if it's broke) and you can cause yourself major problems with blood poisoning. Good Luck. I will even help you in finding a dental clinic if wish.

OUCH! So Sorry Man! I hate to break it to you, but you HAVE to go to the dentist. If you don't have insurance, there r low income clinics EVERYWHERE and they can refer you to a cheap/ no insurance required dentist near you. You have a bigger problem then you think. That nerve can cause some serious issues. Think about it... food and nasty saliva is touching it and got knows what else has been in ur mouth since this happened. You have to go dude. Sorry. See if they do payment plans. They can't turn u down. If not, go to the ER. Trust me, they can help too. They can't turn you down at all. They'll just send you a HUGE bill after. Good luck with that

Forget the door. Tie up the tooth to the bumper of a car. That should be enough force to do the trick but you'll probably really need a dentist then and a doctor.

If you cannot afford a dentist, is there a dental school at a university near you? they rely on real patients to provide the students with practical experience. They are supervised and it takes longer than a regular appointment. You might be there for 3 or 4 hours. I know that sounds bad, but it is much better than suffering.

Good luck - I feel for you!

Tie a long piece of string onto your tooth, the other end to a door knob. Then adjust your distance so that when the string is tight there is still room for the door to close. (about 6 inches) Now, slam the door as hard as you can completly closed. End result is, you won't feel much pain, cause it's so quick, but your tooth will be next to the door. Good luck! A guy at my job actually did this at work, and it worked for his front tooth. Crazy Frank, I'll never forget him.

VERY BAD IDEA!!!!! ....You could really hurt yourself! Besides, if the tooth broke, it will continue to break and all you'll have will be roots that will most likely get infected and swollen. Go to an emergency room if you have to. Some dentists will offer payment options. You probably need to be on antibiotics.

don't do it...you will not get the entire root out, and the resulting infection will make you wish you could cut your own head off with a chain saw...for real dude. there are dental clinics with sliding fee's for low income folks. look into possibility of a dental school in your area, call a dentist referral service and let them know you don't have the money. there will be a dentist who will help you out. do it soon, as you prob already have an infection. good luck.

Oh my god.. PLEASE DON'T DO THAT!!! You can really cause more problems down the line. Go to the hospital - many hospitals have dentist on call or even free clinics. If there is a dental school, college, university or a dental hygiene school - they can help you. Don't worry there are less expensive alternatives. Even if you go to a dentist or dental clinic and create a payment plan.. just see a professional.
