Being on the road so much, what would've been a realistic thing at that time in that part of the world for him to carry to snack on? Something tells me he didn't carry around a bag of homemade trail mix. I don't think he stopped at hotdog carts either.

actually it is very possible for him to carry a trail mix... that region has fig trees, and many types of nuts and berries.. they did know how to dehydrate meat and fruit in those days by using salt which was available in markets. Of course they could fish or buy fish from the river Jordan.

Jesus usually took nothing, people usually gave him meals, if not Jesus fasted in them times, or feed off berries bushes, apples from trees, and some plants along the way of travels, drink from wells, brooks. The other Apostles usually carried food like fish, bread.

Since he was most likely an Essene - he probably ate fruit and veg that they grew in their own community. I picture him carrying a bag of raisins, prunes, and maybe some short cut sticks of local veg. Maybe a bag of nuts too.

well in Sunday school when I was little I was told the bread was Jesus' body... so I guess he just chewed on his limbs for nourishment

and should he ever come across some old friends a party was only a thorn prick away, because as we all know, Jesus' blood is wine

If believing in god could feed someone spiritually, and spiritually is the only way someone need be fed, then all of the world's hunger problems would be over.

As it happens, since Jesus was middle eastern, he would have been eating pita bread, eggplant, fish, lamb, beans, lentils and so forth. The second link in my references clearly discusses the 'jesus diet' in detail.

Doing the work of his Father fed Him spiritually.

John 4:25 The woman said to him, "I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things."
26 Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am he."

27 Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he was talking with a woman, but no one said, "What do you seek?" or, "Why are you talking with her?" 28 So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, 29 "Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?" 30 They went out of the town and were coming to him.

31 Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, "Rabbi, eat."
32 But he said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about."
33 So the disciples said to one another, "Has anyone brought him something to eat?"
34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
