first thing to know is don't live in Melbourne
live in Perth or Adelaide much nice friendly places
I'm sure you will be fine Australia is made up of immigrants contact the local shire offices near where you are going to live they will tell you the schools and services near your area..... join after school activities so that you meet other parents just like yourself... jus be laid back and you will fit in ..

Hello Bijan,
Melbourne is a great place to live. Only those that live in other states will disagree.
What you need to find out first is what suburb you will settle in, when you have that decided then you can go to the local council and they can give you a list of all the local schools and explain to you how to enroll your son. Every suburb has its own community centre which is also full of information that you will need.
And as Melbourne has a lot of immigrants, there will also be an association from your original country that you can locate and I am sure the will be more then happy to help you with any information you may need.
I love living in Melbourne and am sure you and your family will love it as well.

i do not live there, however it is wise to also post a zip code or State. You can stop by at your local town hall for information regarding that town.
