Not necessarily. The problem is windows may install but some of the older hardware may not be compatible. You do NOT need 512. It will run on as little as 128 but what you should mainly be concerned about is making sure everything works. I would recommend visiting the ibm manufactureres website and checking the driver downloads for your computer. If xp are listed then you know its been done.

yes thats possible as long as your old IBM had atleast 512 mb of memory. Purchase genuine windows xp sp2 and install it in your system.

it is possible although it might become a little slower as to when it is using ME so you have to 1st increase your memory (RAM) to higher levl if possible double it if 128MB make it atleast 254MB and if 64MB tripple it and then install XP on your computer. change the processor to a highr one if you can but this is optional.

If you have 450Mhz CPU, and if you have 128MB RAM Then you can easily install it on your computer.
