My kids wear their shoes from the time they wake up in the morning until they do to bed at night. They are use to having them on because we are out and about all the time. It's just how some families do it. I see nothing wrong with it as long as you vacum every few days.

My kids do not wear shoes in our house. No one wears shoes in our house. I have a rule that everyone takes them off at the door. My kids never have any problem with it they come in kick off the shoes and just walk around the house in socks. Whenever they have friends come over I make sure that they take off their shoes as well. If they are coming into the house with us they will usually see us all stop at the door and pull our shoes off and either do the same or ask if they need to take off their shoes. If the kids come over and we are already at home my kids know to tell them when they come inside. Most of their frequent friends have their shoes off before we even get to the door. It is just understood that our house shoes never are let inside. Kids don't mind at all as we all just hang out in socks

Holy crap.. the kids are wearing shoes in the house. Big deal.
My mother used to have a rule that said we weren't allowed to wear shoes in the house. That was all fine and dandy when we were little kids and she was the one that took our shoes off and put them on, but then kids get a little bigger and they forget to take them off when they come storming through the door, and then you have people over, and you don't want to tell them to take their shoes off and get their socks dirty on the floor that is travelled by 4 kids and 2 dogs..
Eventually, it got to the point that when there was 4 kids and their friends runnning around, and 3 dogs and a cat getting the floor dirty that my mother told people that came in the house specifically to NOT take their shoes off because their socks would get more damaged than the floor would.
Who cares if they wear shoes in the house? Lots of people do. I do sometimes.. my kids do sometimes. It's normal.. but normal is all relative.

My own child takes off her shoes when she walks in the door. However, I do know people who wear their shoes in the house, up until they go to bed. Some people are just more comfortable in their shoes than not, and if the parents are that way, maybe the children picked it up from them.

I don't wear shoes around the house and I make my kids take theirs off by the door. But I do know a family that puts their shoes on when they get dressed and leave them on all day. I guess it's just a matter of how you were raised or what you prefer. I can't imagine wearing mine all day and can't wait to get them off. I would rather go bare foot than anything.

People are in and out of our home all day, it would be rather stupid to be taking shoes off all the time. I never understood the whole germ argument. Germs are everywhere get used to it. Our floors still look great even with all the shoe wearing.

We dont wear shoes in the house apart from slippers. My son flings his shoes across the room the second he enters a house... any house .. not just ours... and the socks usually follow a few minutes later.
I just think it depends how you were brought up.

No, my daughter doesn't, and I don't and my husband doesn't. My daughter can't wait to get her shoes off when she gets home. She used to also strip off her clothes as soon as she walked in the door, it's just been since she started 1st grade that she will leave her clothes on too, or she'll go and put on a nightgown. It's all about comfort! Plus your home stays cleaner if you leave shoes by the door.
