If you really can not avoid him, better inform your parents and try to get a positive reply. If he is having a sound, matching family and backgroung, you can defentely go ahead

yes.... because if you have a great relationship with your parents then they would see that you love this person even if they don't think that the person is the right person to marry and they should be able to except your decision in who you want to marry. SO you should let your parent know how you fell about this person so that they would understand you and support you.

When my (now) husband and I talked about marriage, he had a talk with my parents and actually asked my father for permission to present an engagment ring to me, without my knowledge. It made my father feel important, and it was a very touching experience for him. There is nothing wrong with tradition, this was a second wedding for me, and even though it probably wasn't neccassry, it meant a great deal to my parents.

YES YOU SHOULD TAKE YOUR PARENT'S PERMISSION TO MARRY HIM. IF THEY SAY NO THEN TRY TO CONVINCE THEM. IF YOU ARE CONVINCED AND IN LOVE THEN I THINK THAT THEY SHOULD ALSO ACCEPT HIM
