Lots of rest, peace and quiet, someone you love and trust around and most important a good attitude and a will to be better.Life is a finite thing you have to love it and yourself to get through the rough spots. And that is a law you cant break!

I wouldn't say that your friend experienced a true nervous breakdown. Being angry and upset and sad is a natural part of a break up. The best thing you can do is tell your friend that you're there for her if she needs someone to talk to. Try to encourage her to get out and do things to take her mind off things.

First of all, are you on any medications? Have you seen a doctor? If not, please go. He/She will know how to help you.
There are many reasons we have a nervous breakdown. My Mom when she was around 35 had one. The doc put her on Ativan for over a decade. I personally thought he was a quack, being after awhile that med stops working, but that is me, and she wouldn't change docs.
Please go to a healthcare physcian if you havent' yet. It is important they know what has occurred. Therapy with meds is the way to go to get you healed.
Good luck

Best remedy for curing the "symptoms"- anti depressants.
But the best way to solve the root of the problem- counseling and self-understanding.

You..or whomever would need time to decompress...somewhere quiet..and re-integrate slowly....laughter, music, things that are tangible and pleasing. Nothing harsh.....no criticism.
A couple of months or more would i believe be needed......Perhaps even longer. my recommendation would be tostay in contact with the physician that took this under his/her wing..and take it from there, however yo uasked and I gave you the most honest answer i can based upon personal experience.
