Such review also includes program screenshots, information about its price, implemented features, performance and general effectiveness. We rate tested programs by giving marks from 1 to 100. The higher mark a spyware remover gets the more effective it is. Please carefully read each review, pay attention to the rating mark a program got and read comments published by other visitors. This will help you to make a wise choice and compare your current anti-spyware program with other modern solutions on the market.

use virus removal software to identify and remove it. if you are using windows, and you know the name of the file, go to the control panel and use removal tool to delete it. if you have avg free virus protection, it may be able to remove it, or at least identify it so you can do a search to find it and delete it that way. you can go to avg.com for the free version of the anti-virus software if you dont have any other software already loaded. if you have software, run the full scan and find out what you need to delete the virus. also, turn on the windows security and firewall to at least med-high for most sources of mal-ware. windows also has updates for such things so you need to set the update tool to auto.

First you must know what virus you have and after that you search definitions about that virus on the Internet. If it is a Trojan then you might use Pest Patrol but if it is another you can use Symantec 10 (Norton Antivirus). :D

Here is a list of all the major free anti-virus programs:
Avast:

Anti-Vir:

AOL AntiVirusShield:

AVG:

BitDefender 8: (on-demand only, no real-time protection)

Clamwin: (on-demand only, no real-time protection)

Personally, I use the AOL AntiVirusShield. Don't let the name AOL scare you. AntiVirusShield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world.
In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, AntiVirusShield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.

AOL AntiVirusShield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources.
Free to anyone, AOL member or not.
