I work at a port of call and everytime a new ship comes in, the sailors stare like they've never seen a female in their lives and pass lewd remarks. I think it's really rude and annoying. No matter what their lives at sea are, they should learn to have a little bit of respect.

First you really should not take offense to this. You have got to remember that guys on ship wether it be sailor, army or marine, it is just part of a military thing that happens when you go out on ship. If you have been surrounded by nothing but women for 6months or more I am sure that you would love to see a guy after that. Oh well thats the way that it rolls and its not that they are disrespecting you its just that they probably think you are worth something too look at.

The have been at sea for months on end and I don't think there is too many woman on board with them. It is very rude to make comments like that to women, but you can only take the sailor from the sea, but not the sea from the sailor!

Not only have they not seen women for a while, they've been in a male environment where dirty jokes and crude comments are the norm. It is really rude and disrespectful. The only thing to really do is ask the officers to speak to the men about their manners before they hit town and to demand respect from the men when you see them.

Now you KNOW that it's because they haven't been around women. Also it's not just sailors. Men everywhere do that. You just want people to know that guys are staring at you. The most attractive women don't even notice it. Lesser attractive women look for it.

perhaps its in basic terms the realm you visit, and theres no longer many black human beings. i replaced into travelling some village in scotland once and a black guy walked by ability of and they were all watching him. no longer in a malicious way, in basic terms curious i wager. round right here you does no longer get human beings staring.

they probably don't get to see many women in there job.there's not many women in the navy.and they might not seem attractive wearing the same gear as they are all the time.you should just take it as a compliment or ignore them

because as you said yourself, they are surrounded by the seas, air animals like birds etc, and there are all men on board. when they on land, they feel they miss out sth all this while - women.

Just tell the that you chat with most of their wives on Yahoo and you're taking names. That'll stop most of them.
