The melody was originally called "To Anacreon In Heaven". Written in 1780 by a member of the ANACREONTIC CLUB in Great Britian, a group of wealthy men who met to celebrate music, food and drink. Ironic that a British beer drinking song became the melody of our 'National Athem'?

You need the notes? In the internet is the best place to look or the library. On second thought, I searched and the sites want you to pay to download the notes on the net. Oh well, try your local school and the library
